PostureBell

Ultra-lightweight Mac menu bar app that nudges your posture using on-device webcam face-angle tracking.

Target Audience: Remote programmers, desk workers, and designers suffering from slouching and neck strain
The Headache

Most desk workers start the day sitting upright, but within 45 minutes they are hunched 4 inches from their screen with their neck tilted forward.

Hardware posture sensors require wearing uncomfortable sticky pads or straps on your back, while standard phone reminders go off whether you are slouching or not.

The Proposed Fix

PostureBell runs silently in your Mac menu bar:

•100% on-device local vision: Periodically checks your facial alignment and shoulder angle using local Apple Silicon CoreML. Zero video is ever stored or transmitted.
•Ambient nudge: When you slouch for more than 3 minutes, your screen subtly dims or a soft audio chime plays until you sit up.
•Ergonomics score: Weekly posture stamina insights to measure improvement.
Business Model & Pricing

$9 one-time payment on Mac App Store with 14-day free trial. Lifetime updates.

The privacy-first local CoreML angle is essential. Nobody wants an app transmitting camera data to the cloud. Love this.

What is the battery impact on an M-series MacBook if it's sampling the camera continuously? Does it sleep when running on battery power?
