At PitchMyIdeas, we believe in radical simplicity and respect for user privacy. We do not sell data, we do not run intrusive ad network trackers, and we treat early customer emails with institutional security standards.
2. How Backer Waitlist Data is Handled
When a backer joins a waitlist for an unbuilt idea, they provide an email address, their customer persona, and their willingness-to-pay estimate:
- Sole Beneficiary: This lead information is delivered exclusively to the founder of that specific idea inside their authenticated Founder Dashboard.
- Never Sold: PitchMyIdeas will never sell, rent, or distribute backer email lists to advertisers, data brokers, or third parties.
- Purpose Limitation: The idea founder is granted access to these emails solely to provide product launch announcements and beta access for that specific idea.
3. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate the platform:
- Account Information: When signing in with Google or email via Clerk, we receive your name, email address, and avatar image.
- Pitch Submissions: Titles, taglines, problem/solution descriptions, pricing models, categories, and milestone updates you choose to publish publicly.
- Community Interactions: Feedback comments (roasts), flames (upvotes), bookmarks, and milestone logs.
4. Infrastructure & Security Partners
To keep your data safe, PitchMyIdeas partners with trusted, industry-standard infrastructure providers:
- Authentication: Managed by Clerk, adhering to SOC 2 Type II compliance and end-to-end encrypted sessions.
- Database: Stored on Neon Serverless PostgreSQL with SSL-encrypted transit and encrypted storage at rest.
- Hosting: Deployed via Vercel Edge network with global DDoS mitigation and automated SSL certificates.
5. Your Rights & Permanent Erasure
Under GDPR, CCPA, and standard privacy principles, you have full control over your data:
- Right to Export: Founders can export their collected waitlist leads to CSV directly from the dashboard.
- Right to Delete: You can delete any pitch you posted at any time. Pitch deletion triggers immediate cascade deletion of all associated waitlist entries, roasts, and milestone updates.
- Account Deletion: You can delete your account via Clerk account management, which wipes your identity from our database.
6. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material modifications, we will update the "Last updated" timestamp at the top of this page.
